I was just looking at the archives and noticed the significant drop in list
traffic from about 0.5 MB per month a few years ago to less than 50 KB per
month now.

Is this a sign of dwindling (90% loss?) urS4 and urS6 cars, or have owners
moved off to audiworld/quattroworld?

I've still got two as daily drivers - one with 192k miles that needs a bit
of work (doing timing belt tomorrow), the other with 152k miles in pretty
good condition apart from an oil leak from the turbo area.

Paul,

I just finished redoing the front end of my Pearl 95.5 S6 Avant with 185K -subframe and sway bar bushings, TCA's, Igor mod's to the strut top plates (Eibach springs long ago), rack refresh, new tie-rods, PS pump x-plug refresh, and an ungodly amount of pentosin cleanup from the rack leak... Now I'm thinking of getting the rear suspension in equally good shape. Maybe even finish rebuilding and swapping in the RS2 motor and 6sp from the other avant I have that's apart and on the shelf right now (broken motor and haven't quite gotten to the rebuild yet). So at least two 95.5 avants that are still around, one a great runner, the other waiting its turn again. I typically don't post much 'cause I don't know if I can add all that much to the conversation - I'm more into listening to the experts for the most part!

Awfully nice to drive the car up to Portland (OR) this evening - tight and smooth front suspension again and the IA Stage III chip gives just enough oomph to make it sweet. That other motor was a kick in the pants before it broke though...
