[s-cars] Anyone Parting Out an S6?

Ok folks, this is what I've found out to date about door locks and latches.
The S4 and S6 have both different door latches and cylinders. The S4
cylinder has a disk which connected to the latch by means of a rod. The S6
doesn't have this disk. The same rod is connected to the cylinder but by
some other means - it can be seen on page 870-00 of ETKA next to item 16
(the rod clip). I spent 30 mins with Audi dealer parts guy on the phone
searching for a cylinder disk and c-lip but not to be found. Surmise that
this is discontinued as Audi wants that particular cylinder out of the way.
Also S6s don't have it. Also I have had a S4 cylinder in my hand and it does
not look anything like the cylinder in my S6.
So I still have a problem of a broken something on my door lock cylinder.
The solution to my problem is a new cylinder to the tune of $210, including
coding by Audi to my key - though this makes it non-returnable. This
explains why I originally was looking for a parted out cylinder for a S6. I
suspect the "S6 cylinder is constructed in such a way as to not be easily
dis-assembled to discourage the likes of myself attempting to do what I am
attempting.
The solution may be the expensive one!!!
Cheers,
Tony

Tony -
You should be good for any C4 then so no reason to restrict yourself to S6.
Should be an easy junkyard pickup from the right age A6.

Hi folks,
Looking for a S6 that is being parted out. Actually I require the driver
door lock mechanism as mine suffered a failure in the cold weather we had
here recently. One of the inner door locking rods (4A0 837 195 B) is
floating freely with a broken piece attached to it which may be part of the
cylinder though not sure where it attached to. There are three rods. One
attaches to the door handle, one to the knob and the third which appears it
could attach to the cylinder.
So if you have or know of a S6 parting please let me know. The S4 door lock
mechanism is different to the S6. Can provide a pic.
Thanks
