[s-cars] Fwd: Schumacher in a Coma after ski accident

A bit of counter point from someone that has done a lot of skiiing here and
some in the Alps.
- The 'trails' in Europe are nothing like here- they are minimally groomed
and marked by comparison, so the whole 'off piste' bit is something of a
red herring. I ended up accidentally skiiing 'off piste' many times while
skiiing with locals that knew the area, so it's pretty hard to avoid.
- Schumaker was wearing a helmet, presumably not a cheap one, and hit hard
enough so that the helmet broke. I'll just leave that there.
- Severe injuries like his aren't unusual- ski areas are pretty good at
suppressing the bad news. For instance, there were 9 other people killed
just last week skiiing 'off piste' in the Alps. I couldn't find anything on
how many were seriously injured or killed 'on piste', but I bet it wasn't
zero.
I skiied hard and fast for many years, but I can have just as much if not
more fun 'farting around' the bunny slopes with my son while he learns-
moments don't have to be filled with adrenaline to be worth living and
remembering.
