Well guys, it's time to part with the Grim Sleeper.

This '95 S6 Avant has 216k miles on it. The body has some rust on the
tailgate and behind the front fenders. The black paint will shine up, but it
really needs a clay bar and some polishing to get it looking sharp. There
are some door dings and the bumpers have scratches and other minor damage,
including some cracks. It looks like an old Audi wagon and is unnoticable as
something more "interesting" to the casual observer including "the man".
Hence the "grim sleeper" moniker.

BUT. . .

While the exterior ain't concourse, this car has be maintained aggressively
during my ownership by myself and Denver based Salta Performance (including
a recent timing belt service). Mechanically it needs nothing, it hauls ass
and the interior is also in good shape, all seat heaters work (including
driver's), no tears in the leather and the ride is comfortable.

Car has some go fast goodies:
MTM Stage 1 chip
RS2 exhaust manifold
Stebro cat back exhaust
Silicone boost hoses and metal cross-over pipe.
POS + ignition coils also were replaced a few years ago with OEM (no
misfires or other issues, the OEM ones lasted close to 150k, so why go with
an Apikol kit or other non-OEM solution?).

I am either the third owner, and while I don't have any records from the
previous owners, I have all service records during my ownership. I hesitate
to add up what has been invested to keep this car running perfectly, but
I've never been scared to spend cash on the car's mechanical health as I
drive a lot during winter in the mountains and didn't want any breakdowns or
other surprises during a blizzard. As a result the car performs flawlessly,
including pulling like a beast from 80-120mph on the steepest mountain
passes that Colorado has to offer (not that I've done this, mind you).

I'm in the process of compiling all the records, taking photos and prepping
the car for sale. I'm offering it up to listers first, as you guys have been
invaluable in keeping this car running like a champ.

I'm selling because I've moved on to a S4 Avant and as much as I'd like to
keep this car as my winter road warrior, I do not have the space to do so.

I'm thinking $6k or so. The car is located in Boulder, CO. and is running on
some Mille wheels with decent snow tires.

If anyone is interested, please contact me via email and I can provide more
details including pictures. By the end of the weekend, I'll have it listed
for the general public in the usual spots.

Thanks for all the help, and don't worry, I'll still be hanging around as I
get up to speed on the B5 platform.

Cheers,

Tom
