John and whoever-
There are two Cayenne models that are available with a manual transmission-
the '08-09 GTS and the base V6 (all years).

There is a recent article in Panorama (actually this month) that talks
about how the current V6 Cayenne drives with a manual, although
it's kind of a cheater with 21" sport wheels and PASM.

Although the V6 sounds a bit underpowered, the '11+ model has 280hp and is
800 lbs. lighter than the outgoing model, so they're not
exactly slow, either.

Teddy's suggestion of a 535xi is not a bad one, either- the '09+ model with
the updated iDrive is not too difficult to operate and if you can
find a N54 engined car, they respond really well to chips and a FMIC. The
later N55 cars not so much, due to the single turbo setup. Just
be aware that the HPFP issue is still there and not resolved to my
knowledge.

I love the current Cayenne, so if your budget stretches to that, I'd be
pretty happy with a V6 Cayenne.
