Paul,
When I did my brake cables, I raised up my car on all 4 corners, disconnected the rubber donuts for the exhaust and let it lower by about a foot, if I recall correctly.? My prop shaft was near impossible to disconnect so I didn't. As I recall the trick I used was to route the cables from the rear, go an additional foot or so.? Use slender needle nose clamps to hold the "thingy" that the parking brake cables clip onto and then slip the ends onto the "thingy."? The extra foot you routed the cable allows you to make a partial loop and the clamp allows you to hold the "thingy" in place and turn it if necessary.? After you get both cables on then you pull the cables to the rear and install on the brake calipers.? FYI I rebuilt my calipers using a kit I got off Amazon.? It took about an hour or less per caliper to rebuild.? I used cleaning solution and a wire wheel on my bench grinder.?

Without the cable, the internal springcan return the cam to the rest position, but with the cable attached, thearm doesn't really want to move unless you put a LOT of force on thehandbrake lever. So - do I need to drop the exhaust and prop shaft, or is it possible (withchunky 50-year-old fingers) to replace the cables with the exhaust andpropshaft in position?Paul
