[s-cars] Sports Wagons? Replacement for '95.5 S6: S4 Avant

I just sold my 95 S6 avant with approximately 220k on the clock for $4k.

The replacement is a 2001.5 S4 avant (6 speed, imola yellow).

I purchased this car for 7800, with 119,000 miles.

There were a few minor issues, and so far I'm really happy with the wagon.

Big issues are replacing the turbos and if the car is jack rabbited from
standing still, then the 1 and 2nd syncros will go.

It's much more of a sports car than the S6 was. And, of course, more
electronics and much less room to work under the hood.

But despite my S6 being stage 1 + (MTM), this car is faster, smoother and
more fun to drive. I have a rocket box on top which alleviates some of the
loss of cargo space. It does have a stage 1 MTM chip, but nothing else.

Since you are looking for a new toy, have you checked out Volvo? I think the
R70 wagon could be an interesting ride. But in reality know nothing about
those vehicles. I've driven an XC70 and liked it. Lots of room.

Or get yourself a well sorted 5000 TQA and be happy (owned 2 of those, ugly
but fast!!!!!)

Good luck.

Tom 2001.5 S4 Avant
