[s-cars] crankshaft question

I just gave someone a crankshaft sensor model number 077905381F which is
listed in ETKA as the part for the following 4.2 V8 audis


   - Audi A6 allroad 4.2L V8
   - Audi A6 C5 4.2L V8
   - Audi A6 C6 4.2L V8
   - Audi A8 D2 4.2L V8
   - Audi S4 B6
   - Audi S4 B7
   - Audi S8 D2



His car is actually a 1991 V8 audi with the same part number listed in ETKA
except without the  F designation at the end. The color connector of the
one I sent is gray instead of black for his vehicle. Are not most of these
crankshaft sensors mechanically the same, and even the same as the engine
speed sensors, just with different colored connectors. Does anyone know if
the sensor I sent him will work with his older model V8. Thanks.
