I'm running Cooper RS3-A (94W) (235/45/17) on my UrS6 in Montana. Living
at 4800 ft and routinely going over 6500 ft passes, these have worked
well. (supposed to snow tonight and tomorrow)
I've also run Continental DWS in light snow with good success. I would
have bought them again (still have a pretty worn out set on my 01 A6
4.2) but I got under 30000 miles the DWS so decided to try something else.

The current summer tread I am replacing is a '96' load rating....and there are fewer options with that rating. I'm wondering if I need that additional weight capacity with a stock '95 s6 avant. Also looking for some advice regarding tread.....I live in the Colorado mountains and have dedicated studded snows for winter, but we will get some heavy wet snow through May and into June occasionally....along with 70-80 degree temps in between. Frozen precip can start up again in September. My last tire was a summer only tread that was downright dangerous with any kind of frozen precip or slush....I've noticed that there are some "high performance" all seasons out there now that "may" be appropriate for my needs. I've always stayed away from the all-seasons for obvious reasons, but my spring and fall seasons bring lots of variable weather. Car spends lots of time on the highway above posted lega
