[s-cars] Coolant leak from under the intake manifold

Hello listers;

Looking for a bit of guidance, since the car is new to me.  There is a coolant leak coming from under the intake manifold, about where cyl. 3 is.  It is visible with the engine cold, evaporates once it warms up.  FA shows a water collector pipe there, with four openings into the head, one with a triangular gasket, the other three with o-rings.  Looks like the obvious suspect.

My question is:  can I remove the water collector pipe without removing the intake manifold?  Or would it be a better idea to take the intake out for better access?  If so, how involved is it - do I need to disconnect fuel lines, etc?
