[s-cars] Road trip preparations.....

Have a great trip, Jim.

Mance is one of the original CO group with Frank Amoroso, et. al.,
modifying the Urs4/6 along with that newcomer, Hap McGuire. You can
find Mance on the 80/90/Coupe/Cab forum at the QW website at least for
history. The 90 Mance modified included the 5cyl/20vt engine. Here
is one thread to give you an idea: http://forums.quattroworld.com/9080/threads/5731.phtml#43788
Mance machined and sold many parts for these cars.

The ignition switch thread is long gone but Mance did an investigation
a couple of years ago in preparation for a modification to make them
more reliable. He found that every aftermarket brand he purchased,
including some $6 switches from autohausAZ were superior to the
original factory switch, but that the newest Audi parts were improved
as well and the mod he envisioned would not make them better.
