[s-cars] Fuel tank replacement

I was going to say "I wonder why Audi didn't change the PN on the fuel tank when the fuel pump mount was changed". 
Then I read the story about the older tanks having an inner coating that came off and caused problems and that Audi 
dropped that fuel tank at some point:

"According to Audi service bulletins, the later vehicles do NOT use this coating anymore, the cutoff for the early
 vehicles is up to 1990 100 AND 200 Cars at VIN # 44KN017651"

As a result, I have to conclude that while the fuel tanks before that 44KN VIN did have a different PN than 4A0201075L,
4A0201075L was the replacement PN for the Audi 100s and 200s (5000s) all the way back to 1985 cars.  
- At least back in 2007 (if you know what I mean).

Good luck Radek. You need to get a different fuel tank or get yours repaired (there are companies that do fix them)

What he's describing is the early 5k/100/200 fuel pump.

The C4 Fuel Tank, PN 4A0201075L, goes all the way back to 1985 C3 Audis and was used all the way to the end of the C4s (as show in the diagram linked below).  However, it is not clear when or IF the fuel pump basket mounting bracket was  changed over that period.
