[s-cars] Rear Hatch woes '95 S6 avant

For adhesives you want a filled epoxy like JBWeld. The "plastic epoxy" stuff is ok for certain applications but i have found little that beats JBW type real epoxy.

One trick is to rough up surfaces, and help with mechanical bonds. I sometimes drill tiny holes in the pieces so the goo gets a full mechanical lock in. Another trick is to use another rigid reinforcing material. On my old hatch i used a strip of aluminum angle, drilled and screwed in but then all slathered w JBW before it went together. Its the epoxy that holds it together not the screws really. Stiffened up the bottom massively. I have also glued in welding rod, or of course various glass mats etc like traditional bodywork repair materials.

Sent from a flat touchy device of some sort
