[s-cars] Driver's door won't open from the inside

The driver's door will not open from the inside.  I pull the interior door
release lever and nothing happens.  To exit the driver's seat I must roll
down the driver's window and use the exterior door handle to open the door.
I removed and inspected the interior door release lever and confirmed it is
in good condition with the Bowden cable securely attached.  Clearly the
Bowden cable is not actuating the door latch assembly, so there must be a
disconnect at the other end, or the cable is broken somewhere in the middle.
Any advice on how best to inspect and, if necessary, replace the Bowden
Cable?
