I’ve looked at many – and in all that showed the rotor coming out – it just flopped out. I’ve seen the upper bearing being pressed out of the casing, but nothing about the lower bearing.

I’ll keep poking at it…

Avi Meron was the guy doing "ultranators". I've never taken one apart, but there seems to be a lot of guides with pictures around the web. Seems like the thing presses together/apart based on a few things I looked at.
