Martin,
I heard a similar thing today while trying to find out if these parts
had really gone away. Word is that the MB door lock actuator looks like
a better design than the Audi part (surprise, surprise), and strong
enough to do the job, but it would not directly bolt in as the mounting
pattern is different. This definitely sounds like something that needs
more research.
