[urq] goofy fenders?

The one feature of the car that I thought most clearly identified it
as a urq is the parking brake lever.  I think that's unique and not
something anyone would ever bother or be able to "convert".  The urq
is the only type 85 that I've ever seen with this sort of handbrake
lever.  Is this the case or am I off base?
