My late 85 UrQ is 99% there, but its the last 1% thats driving me crazy.
(when I say 99% there, Im talking mechanicaly, certainly not cosmetically!)

I have a couple of really minor electrical issues that annoy me, and
before I dug into them, I wanted to see if there were any BTDT's or
common causes that might save me a little time.

-The handbrake light on the dash flickers when I go over bumps.
Obviously grounding out somewhere but I cant find where.
-Rear wiper/washer don't work. Always used to, suddenly dont anymore.
-Occasionaly working fuel gauge. I suspect sending unit or tracing on
cluster pcb.

thanks for any tips!
Bob

The URQ brake light is often traced to the pressure senders on the bottom of
the bomb proportioning valve.
There are 2 of them down there, and they gradually get worse (and leak) till
they finally give up the fight and fail completely. They are pricey so check
around. I would give Chris Savage at Sunset Audi in Oregon a call or e-mail
at- 800-346-0182 _audiparts at sunsetimports.com_
(mailto:audiparts at sunsetimports.com) . The leaking ATF will usually also trash the rubber mounts for the
unit as well.
It can be as simple as an adjustment on the lever itself regards contact
with the switch that turns the light on when the brake lever is applied. The
Audi gods usually don't let you off that easy, but you might get lucky.
