Urq-folk,
I am in the process of evaluating which gauges to install into the '83, and
I've narrowed my choices to 2 1/16 in VDO Vision series and Autometer Street
Comp series gauges. The gauges to be installed are EGT, oil temp and
coolant temp or boost. I have already selected a air/fuel mixture gauge
which will only be used for testing/evaluation purposes. I was hoping some
of you would reply with opinions and/or BTDT on these selections (re
install, sender/sensor adaptability, etc.). In addition, I am considering
swapping out the oe boost gauge for a 4k coolant temp gauge. How accurate
are the oe boost gauges? I know that it most likely is not as responsive or
accurate as an aftermarket equivalent, and I'm ok with that. I am
attempting to keep the interior of the urq as oe as possible, so I am
willing to live with the oe boost gauge shortcomings provided max boost
readings are fairly accurate.
Thanks is advance for your thoughts and consideration!
Jim
