[urq] VDO Vision vs. Autometer Street Comp (Longish)

I'm not familiar with the Autometer gauges you are talking about (unless
it's the same model as I have fo rmy boost gauge...) so I won't address
them.

Anyway- IMO the Vision gauges are a perfect visual match for the car - I
like the needles that light up. However - I never found them in temp C,
only temp F, if that matters to you, and oil in PSI instead of bar. That
may not matter to you. More important, and I ay have gotten a bad gauge,
but my temp gauge was screwy. I did actually have _two_ different VDO
senders - both proper temp range, one in back of head, one in the upper rad
hose (remember my motor is a 3B - so different options) - so I'm convinced
it was a gauge issue. By screwy I mena it read high and would sporadically
go to 250F. I've since installed a in-dash temp gauge that works properly
with the MFTS in the 3B.

I recommend ditching the stock boost gauge. Get a numbered one. This is
helpful for diagnostic as well as performance as you can monitor vaccum at
idle, decel, etc to make sure you don't have vacuum leaks.

Not sure where you are mounting the gauges, but FWIW here's what I have
(data point) -

in dash engine temp gauge
Rotary diff lock moved to left cubby
voltage and oil temp bar graph gauges on diff lock panel
boost, oil pressure, and duplicate water temp (to be removed soon) in 3
gauge center console
