Hi Andrew,

I think Audi shows the "push in" method for speed of assembly as screwing 
in the switches takes a lot more time.  Same for removal.  If a technician 
is changing these, using the Audi tool removes them quickly probably to the 
detriment of the plastic threads on the switch, but not to the steel 
retaining nut.  Those of us who scour junk yards for NLA parts like these 
have the time to remove these carefully for recondition and reuse 
later.  The ones I've pulled work perfectly well after 
re-installation.  They screw in tight and don't wobble at the set point.
