[urq] VIN Question

Hi Martin,

Through trial and error, I have identified that I indeed have the earlier
suspension.  Control arms were the big tip-off.  I am now trying to source
new coil springs.  The old ones are so corroded that the markings are gone.
I'm somewhat sure I have the early springs, but ETKA only wants to give the
MY 84 and on spring p/n.  Was there a super-cession?  Will the later
springs, with increased spring rate and lowered stance work on my MY 83 with
8" R-8's and non-rolled fenders?  So many questions....

Jim,

The VIN/ETKA can get confusing.
The best way to know what to ask for is knowing what parts you actually have
on your car. Once you know your car it will be easy to order parts.

Let me know if you need help identifying which suspension you have.

Urq-folk,

My 83 urq is # D 900572, which would indicate an August 1982 build date.
However, the build date stamped in the car is July 1982.  This has caused
some issues when trying to locate parts (especially suspension) via Etka.  I
am wondering if the issues I am experiencing are simply part super cession
issues or I have a 82 in a 83 suit?

Anyone have any BTDT?
