To update:
After pulling the dash apart with minimal further damage (rolls eyes)
and reassembling it, i could find nothing wrong with the clock. There
is no connection missing. In fact, if I fine tune it enough, I can
see the second hand move, just not enough to go to the next second.
No matter of fooling seems to fix it, but it seems to indicate that it
is getting power. Perhaps not enough?
The radio turned out to be an unplugged connection at the battery. I
had dismissed it as a broken connection to the rear defroster, which
I'm still unsure if it works.
The speedo is still a little haywire...it whirrs at high speed, but at
low cruising it's fine...regardless of noise, it's relatively
accurate, as far as I can tell by comparison to stock.
Lastly...Thus far, the car has started without fail...maybe it was a
one-time thing? Maybe I should plan on not going anywhere when it's 3
degrees out...probably a better idea.
Thanks for all your help,
-Andrew
