[urq] Help: Urgent Wisdom Required !

This morning, my mechanic replaced the front L+R ball joints -and this
worries me a lot-  but he did not re-fit the 2 original lockplates, instead
he only used the 2 washers which I supplied him.

The other new (Audi) parts I supplied (including the ball joints) are found
on ETKA: AQS.86.4.07.33-00, #5: 4 screws, 8 washers and 4 self-locking hex
nuts (L+R), except the 2 lockplates... The lockplate has P/N 811 407 175 (A)

Question: it¹s called a lockplate, but being no longer there, it doesn¹t
lock anything either. Do I have to get back and let him refit the
lockplates??? The car is going to be re-alligned next Tuesday.

Car is a EURO 1986 VIN GA900888.
