I have a problem. I hear the first step in recovery is to admit to your peer group that you have a problem. OK, I have a large problem. After participating in the various winter driving programs, I will admit I am hopelessly addicted to driving my urq sideways. It all started maybe 9 or 10 years ago with a 1 day event, then the 2 day events, then we would sneak in a few hours when no one was looking, then another day, and another. I keep telling myself that I don't have a problem, only a few more hours of Scandinavian flicks is all I need. I now see that there is no end in sight. I'm a snow drivin' junkie.
Another trek to the winter driving Mecca (aka BWDS at Steamboat) has come and gone. Way more fun was had than should be allowed. Old friendships were rekindled and new friendships were made. The coffee was warm, the bagels, sammies and home-cooked catered dinner was delicious. Tires were spinning, cars were spun and a turbo was over spun. Luckily the snow banks were fairly soft. All cars left the track under their own power, except for the AAN powered 90q rally car that was running flawlessly when loaded into the trailer. We left the track in the slickest condition the track maintenance crew has ever seen, nice and polished. Old skills were mastered and new skills were honed. All in all it was an awesome event.
For those interested, here is a small sample of the visual documentation. We've got hundreds pics and hours of video, which all should be posted to the website in the near future. Photos by Dave L. and Bobbie C., enjoy.
