> I have had the same problem with the LUK clutch, brand new and slipping like
hell. And I didn't find anything that was wrong. Switched to a sachs sport
pressure plate and the clutch was fine again.
There is a statement in the microfiche that the pressure plate is greased and
corrosion-protected - if it is degreased before fitting (except on the contact surface) the
fiche says the life will be "erheblich gekürzt" - considerably reduced.
They're noticeably greasy when you take them out of the box.
Did someone think the grease was just for packaging and degrease it before fitting?
(And I wish a dose of the pox on the "helpful" individual who threw out my broken ratchet
handle - the works were missing - because it was a better clutch alignment tool than Audi's.)
