Well folks, I wrapped the project tonight and was able to take it for a
45-min.test run. The off-boost intake air temps were between 47 and 50 F the
whole time. During the course of the drive, I made several 19+ psi attempts
to heat soak the IC and the hottest air temp measured in the throttle body
pipe was 57 F. With the stock WX IC, even in the winter I could get intake
temps up over 110 F if I really laid into it. So I would say that the
project is definitely a success. I must qualify this data by adding that is
is wet and very slippery on the roads tonight for some reason, so I couldn't
push the car as hard as I wanted. Believe it or not, I spun the tires twice
in fifth gear right at 20+ psi and ~4500 rpm-with center diff. locked. I
will hopefully be able to pound it a lot harder when it dries up here and
see how it does, but preliminary results look very good. I took some more
pictures, but they just show the same stuff as the ones I posted the other
day, but with hose clamps, so I'm not going to bother posting them now. And
yes, my car no longer has A/C. I took it out several years ago, and a 4kq
alternator sits in its place very nicely with an 10x875 mm Contitech belt.
