Sorry - this reply won't help you, it just reminded me of the article about
the Sport Q restoration in the Audi Driver Urq Special Edition magazine from
a few years back. Apparently the car was formerly .......uhh can't remember
his name..Tom..??..anyway he was a hillclimb driver I think, and he would
tow his race prep'ed Sport Q with is personal Sport Q.....how cool is that!

A tow bar to the rest of us!

Has anyone got a tow bar fitted to their urq?
Is it the genuine Audi article?
If so, can it be fitted without cutting bits out of the rear bumper?

I have acquired one that has a detachable ball hitch that can simply be
locked in place when needed. It carries the Audi UK Identification plate
with all the towing weights on it. It also has the manufacturers plate on it
with he following figures:

Type: 305 - 051 Ausr.D
Bauj: 30/86
Prutz: F3516
Stutzlast: 75

The bits that came with it say it is for the Audi Coupe quattro turbo. It
has a large plate, curved at one end that fits inside the boot and curves up
the rear valence withe the main mounting bracket fitting on the outside.

Does anyone have one of these fitted and if so does the bumper have to be
cut. If it does I won't be fitting it.

I have to say it looks a wonderful piece of engineering and must have cost a
fair bit when new.

Any information gratefully received.

Many thanks

Keith
