[urq] CGT gauges in Urq

James
I have done this job. I replaced all three gauges. I replaced them with:
1.Autometer Air/Fuel Meter (and put a lambda probe in the down pipe)
2.Mocal Oil pressure gauge (not electric - direct oil feed from take off on
l/h/s of block - just above/below usual gauge sender)The other drilling on
the block was used for the existing sender to maintain signal to the voice
unit.
3.Mocal Boost gauge fed from t-pice inserted in line to the ECU.
The diff lock control was rotated 90 degrees and placed in the side of the
centre dash so that it is just below the under-dash panel below the ABS
switch (UK model)
It was a fairly straight forward swap. Only thing you lose (with my choice
of gauges) was voltmeter and oil temp gauge and the diff lock lights.
I replaced the latter with two green LEDs that I set in the electric window
switch panel and wired in to the existing diff lock switch wiring. Allk
wiring done so that it could be unplugged and returned to standard if
necessary/desired.
My reasoning for replacing oil temp with oil pressure gauge was that really
oil pressure is more important. If your oil gets too hot it will loose
pressure, if you just have a temperature gauge you can't tell what pressure
you have. Just a question of preference.
Hope this helps
