There I go again putting my feet on the keyboard, Mr. Butt Dyno was too excited by the acceleration and temperature reduction events to remember the construction efforts, my apologies Martin. Bestus, Bill PS discharging oil return through the intercooler sounds like something MickiBenZ or BumMerW would do, Audiphiles know better;-)Bill

OK Bill.... I guess the IC can discharge through the oil return pipe then? ;)
If you don't move the pipe you need to mod the end tank and that's what Jon did...
I spoke to Jon in great detail on this issue, Jon, you there to comment?

  Thanks
  Martin

The turbo oil return pipe had nadda to do with Jon's 944 intercooler end tanks, they are not even close, it was moving the alternator to the left side of the engine and his engineering abiliity, and no,, we are not dating. Bill.

      Rich,

Because the S2 or RS2 motor with A/C has a different turbo oil return pipe
      like this one:
      http://www.irry.com/flod/tragokomp.jpg
Which leaves plenty of room, it was easier to mount the 944 Turbo IC without
haveing to modify the end tanks like Jon A. had to.
Don't have any pics yet, every time I play with it I don't have my camera
      handy.
Once I take some I will post them and forward to you guys. Mike H will also
try to duplicate my set up.
The IC is ~4 times larger than the stock WR unit and makes a great
      difference at higher RPM.

The slightly kinked end is intake (turbo) side and the straight end is on
      the exit (throttle) side.
The outlet piping is a 135 degree silicone elbow into a 2.25" steel pipe
connecting it to an S4/S6 MM hose and then into the stock S2 Intake pipe
      like here:

      Hope this helps.

      Cheers

      Martin,

Nice write-up. You did in a week what took me 3
      months.

On the 944 intercooler, did you modify the
inlet/outlet openings on the cooler itself? It sounds
from your description like you didn't. Are you using
the slightly kinked end as the inlet and the straight
out one as the outlet? Can you describe the outlet
piping in more detail? Any pictures of this?

      Thanks,
      Rich
