[urq] Anyone know about the rear bumper struts?

I got rear ended this morning. It's not that bad but
one of the bumper struts looks to have crushed a bit.
There's a rounded seam on the strut about a quarter
inch out from the body of the car that looks like it's
designed to mushroom in a collision to absorb energy.
Is this correct?

Are these struts still available? Blau and
PartsConnection can't get them.  The bolts holding it
on look rusty, are they a b1tch to get out? Bumper
plugs NLA I hear.
