[urq] Interesting 4000 battery observation

In 1980, Audi made a few four-door 4000s with 5-cyl. engines, but they all came with 3-spd. auto trannies. In 1981, they offered the 4000 5+5, which was a two-door 4000 with a 5-cyl. engine and 5-spd tranny. Both of these cars had the battery mounted under the rear seat and were not sold in very large numbers. Supposedly, the 4000 5+5 was available through 1984, but I've never seen any except 1981 models. The one I owned (briefly) was an '81 and while the idea of a 100hp engine replacing a 74hp engine seemed attractive, the 5+5 was a dog by comparison because the engine added 130+ lbs ahead of the front wheels and the throttle response was so sluggish, the car took forever to rev up. When I bought mine, I thought it'd be quicker than the '81 4-cyl. 4000 I was autocrossing at the time -- perhaps a "sleeper," even, since they ran in the same class -- but I quickly realized otherwise and sold it on. Of course, the 5+5 was loaded with options and weighed almost 2500 lbs whereas my 4000 was a stripper (no a/c/, no sunroof) and weighed a mere 2054lbs in H-Stock trim.
