OK; here's the story on D900522: allegedly totaled in a rear-end accident
in Boston in 2001 or thereabouts (I tried to help the owner get a decent
settlement); sold on eBay, 2/5/02 for $6425; on eBay again 7/04. Serious
doubts about that mileage....

By the way, all you new owners who haven't connected with me, how about
sending me the complete VIN of your URQ. I'll let you know if it's been
previously recorded and its history if the P.O. (s) provided one. For the
Newbies: I've been maintaining this Registry since 1991; it's not on a
website anywhere because many owners 10 years ago insisted on privacy.
[There are other public website registries available, for those who want to
go public.]

I know there are a few new owners on the list, whose names I don't
recognize. I've been quiet of late; new job with big commute has cost me a
lot of time to chase newbies down and do other registry stuff. BTW, thanks,
Andrew B., for sharing your info with me; glad you are happy with the price
you paid, but some of the urqs out there would command a $20K price.

two more buffings. Not so for the mostly faded blackout trim. Lots of dings
on the trailing edge of driver's door-opened in anger too many times? Yoko
Avid V4 tires. Interior dry and cracked, looks to have more wear than miles
admit. Condition: 4+ SOLD AT $4180"

thought it was cheap enough to make a buck on it. Run this bad boy through
the detail shop, immerse the blackout trim in Armor All, and drench the
leather with Hyde Food. That's one way to clean up all the Audi doody!"

reporter comments or not. As far as values, I consider my car to be worth
every penny of the 8500 I paid for it in '99, but I wouldn't sell it for
under 10 simply because I like it so much. That, and I've spend waaaayy to
much on it since then addressing issues that afflict every UrQ, regardless
of condition, and a few upgrades. So I'd be upside down no matter what :)
