I have 85-D-900-543 and I can tell you it has none of
the later upgrades. It has the early rear suspension
with roll bar, crappy electrics, single position diff
locks (modified by me to the dual style)and more of
the crap that '83s had. It has caused me many problems
over the years because the fiche always contradicted
the reality when ordering parts.

SNIP>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.
Examples:
front suspension : 85-D-900 582 and up got the new
style swaybar with
end
links and the newer a-arms.
rear suspension : 85-D-900 500 and up got the new
style rear suspension
with inverted ball joints (4KQ style).
braking system : 85-D-900 358 and up have different
master cylinder
than
the early cars.
rear calipers : 85-E-900 001 and up got the new style
calipers
brake cables : - 85-D-900 351 and before got the
single brake cable
- 85-D-900 352 to 902 500 got the
early style dual
cables
($$$$)
- 85-E-900 001 and up got the 4KQ dual
brake cables ($)
rear diff locks actuator:
- 85-D-900 581 and before have the 1
position switch
(both
diffs locked at the same time)
- 85-D-900 582 to 85-E-901 500 have
the 2 position
push-pull switch
- 85-F-900 001 and up have the rotary
switch.
Fuse box: 85-D-900 582 and up got the underhood
fusebox
So, if there's a lister with a stock 1983
north-american car which VIN
is
between 85-D-900 500 and 85-D-900 582, could you
confirm the above?
HTH,
Louis-Alain
