Brandon
I fitted the coupe GT 3 dial pod in the lower dash (in place of diff lock
switch and "digital" voltmeter and oil temp). The three gauges I used were
Oil Pressure, turbo boost and air fuel ratio. The oil pressure I will keep.
The boost guage (now I know the in-dash one is there or thereabouts) will be
replaced by an oil temperature gauge one day and the Air fuel is there to
stay. The latter was particularly useful in tracing two problems I had: air
leak allowing unmetered air in to system and on another occasion spotting
that an intermittent and extremely brief misfire was infact brief fuel
starvation which then rectified itself - until the next time! I would go for
A/F. It could save you a motor in the long run. Also it's nice to see you're
burning the stuff as it should be.
Incidentally I kept the diff lock switch by rotating it laterally 90
degrees, the knob (rotary, not pull) is now on the side of the centre
console near my left knee (RHD).Two LEDs in window switch panel tell me the
diffs are locked.
Hope this helps with the dilemma.

All the best

Keith

Subject: [urq] Gauges

Guys-
Well....looks like I have some space for some more gauges and looking for
ideas on what to fill the space with....here's the scenario-

Temp gauge in dash
Volt gauge (bar graph) in rotary diff panel mounted in left cubby
Boost gauge mounted by a-pillar
Oil pressure in 3 gauge center console
Oil temp (currently bar graph in diff panel - but may likely switch to VDO
or factory in center console.)

So that leaves one or maybe two spots to fill in the center console...

I thought about EGT or AFR but I don't know - my car is not a high strung
track machine....Maybe intake temps??

Suggestions??
