[urq] Finally re-assembled engine and car...won't start

Hi all,

I had pulled the head out of my car earlier this summer (late July)
because of an exhaust leak that was getting really bad (cracked
manifold, of course). I ended up having the head sent out to an
engine shop where new valve guides and seals were installed, the head
machined, the valves "done", etc. I replaced my O2 sensor and all of
the gaskets and seals in the upper part of the engine while I was at
it.

So I finally got the whole thing re-assembled (with new to me EM)
earlier today. I had done a similar job on a VR6 Passat earlier this
year and it had started on the first try, so I was feeling good about
my chances. Unfortunately, the car won't start. I pulled the wire
from the coil to the distributor cap off and held a screwdriver up to
it: no spark. So, I consider the likelihood of my coil dying in the
past three months slight, (it was stored inside), where should I
start. This is a car that, other than the annoying exhaust leak, ran
pretty well before I pulled it apart. So any ideas on what could be
preventing the coil from firing would be much appreciated. Thanks
all.
