Ok, well as the holiday weekend was wrapping up I was finishing up the  minor 
details on my tranny swap.
 
Thanks to everyone that offered advice and BTDT !!
 
In a nutshell, I changed the clutch, prolly didnt need to but now I got a  
good spare (5k miles).  The transmission from the quantum synchro is f'n  
awesome!!!!  Third gear is exactly where it should have been in the UrQ's  all 
along.  These ratios are spaced about as good the car the I use as a  standard for 
gearing - the Mercedes 2.3 16v.
 
The clutch is the "improved" kit from Blau, pretty beefy mehle disk with  the 
rest being sachs.
 
The feel of the clutch is a little light, but Im gonna give it another  bleed 
after a few more evenings of driving and go from there.
 
*keeping fingers crossed*  me and the blue meanie will be making  the trek to 
Park City afterall  ;o]
