Simple procedure, put the engine on #6 TDC that will put the 0 on both
exhaust cam gears (chain gears end)at the outer edge of the cylinder head
where the the valve cover gasket seats, take a 0.15 mm feeler blade to use
as a pointer off the flat of the cylinder head and center the 0 in the
middle of the feeler blade and lock the cam, check intake cam timing at the
same time if you have messed with the chain, it should be in the middle of
the the 0 also, repeat the procedure on the Right side keeping the engine on
#6TDC, yeah the right side is difficult of course, you have to open the
coolant system, remove an engine mount and a lot of bolts that you don't
have to do on the left side. big shock there, the right side is the "W"
side. This method was discovered by a 1998 A-8 showing up in the shop with a
stripped timing belt and no special tools on hand, and pointing the 0's
together in the center is not accurate
