I too have had some fun with "surprising" others that share the road, and
the Subie's seem to be far more cognizant of the heritage of the URQ than any
other Audi drivers, or the dealer for that matter.
Yesterday, on the other hand, I was surprised. Driving along South Sante Fe
Drive, I noticed a very nice looking black Mazda Protege with what looked like
"optional" factory cladding and wheels. As we entered East bound C470 she
was able via traffic flow to be in the lead, and squeezed it as she merged into
the steeply inclined open lanes. Due to the incline I can usually pull most
cars on this stretch. I couldn't catch her! As I finally came up in traffic
it was labeled a "Protege Mazdaspeed". I have heard of them, never seen one
before.
I must say, it was a lot better looking car than a WRX, and seemed just as
quick.
But when the snow hits...................well ya know.
