If the front anti-roll bar has drop links then you should need the later
joints - if it clamps to the wishbones with big 'G' shaped clips then you
should need the earlier joints.
Early joints have holes in the joint tongue and slots in the wishbone, later
joints have slots in the tongue and holes in the wishbone.
Neither type of joint are unobatainable - it's just that Audi don't list the
early ones any more. According to the dealers you are supposed to fit a
complete set of later style joints, wishbones and anti-roll bar at a cost of
an arm, a leg and both testicles.
