[urq] 3" exhaust

Martin,
FWIW, I'm not interested in an RR copy either. BN Pipes wasn't
interested in making a 20V downpipe for their current 3" (10V)
system. What I need, and what I think most people would want, is a 3"
system with single high-flow cat and a downpipe that would fit a
3B/RR/AAN/ADU/ABY 20V exhaust manifold and turbo. Personally, I would
think that it would be fairly easy to offer either a 10V or 20V
downpipe, as long as they could be test fit when the system was
developed.. The big problem is that the places that would build the
system, Stromung for example, NEED a car to use as a fitment model in
their shop as the 3" systems are so tight, especiallly in the rear at
the differential, that there is almost no tolerance for error clearance
wise. For those that have fit the Scorpion 3" system, you know how
tight it is and some tweaking is almost always needed. That would mean
both a 10V and a 20V car would be needed for fitment.

The newest Stromung system for the S cars is very nice. That
configuration (downpipe, cat or test pipe, resonator and rear muffler)
made to fit the quattro (would fit 4kq as well) perhaps with a dual
output muffler would be ideal IMO, especially for the price.

The other factor to consider with a group purchase is that the
manufacturers want to sell complete systems, not just parts and in a
single configuration. When I checked for interest, there were wildly
varying requests for what people wanted. While I would think that if
the system was available, it wouldn't be hard to find 10 people to buy
it, getting 10 people to commit upfront for a certain configuration and
getting both a 10V and 20V car for fitment isn't easy not to mention
convincing a company to spend the time to make a system for a vehicle
with a very limited market.
