[urq] Timing belt cover vs shouldered nut

Thanks to the aux radiator being in the way (I know
better because with my CGT I pop off the grill and
have great access to the engine front) I spent two
hours trying to remove the lower shouldered nut so
that I could pop off the T-belt cover to peek at the
belt. The upper shouldered nut I was able to remove
with my channel lock pliers(the internal hex was worn
away or rusted away).

Any tips? - I loosed the belt for the hydrolic pump,
but I didn't get enough slack to remove the belt. I
removed the top rubber mount for the aux radiator -
but the L shapped attachment strap gets in the way
when my pliers finally get a grip on the nut and I
want to go counter-clockwise. The nut may be seized
up a bit - because with small pliers I got some grip
on the shouldered nut - but it just slips.

Do I have to crank the engine to get the PS pump belt
off? Does anyone have a favorite plier that works
just great for accessing the lower nut? The aux
radiator seems diffiicult to remove, but that would
certainly improve access to the nut.

I bought new shoulder nuts 4 months ago - I think I
knew trouble was coming.

steve
