I'm working on a g60 vacuum boost brake settup right now for my urq (Don't
dig the Tilton stuff that came with the car). Scott at SJMAuto.com has
helped me source a vacuum boost servo and 25.4mm M/C along with the
connecting pieces to the brake pedal. He was able to get me all new parts
for this for a bit under $500. Obviously could be done for a LOT less with
used parts, but I plan on keeping my car forever and used brake parts make
me a little nervous. Plus shiny new vacuum diaphrams are purdy! Albeit purdy
expensive. The servo is (I believe) a 4kq part, and the master cylinder is a
"short" 25.4mm 2-port m/c, not sure what car it ended up being from. It uses
the funky round reservoir. I have the parts in my garage and if Scott says
they will work I'm sure they will. He spent a good deal of time researching
it for me. I'll post part numbers, pics and info once I get it bolted up.
I'm planning on using a 4kq bias valve; apparently it will proportion
correctly even for a larger m/c.
Should be pretty straightforward...(it always is, right??) If
not...well...we'll have to get Billy Ray Thomas Tucker Thomas "High Boy Lawn
Tractor" Bennett involved. It will definitely get figured out that way, as
well as earn me another day of soul-cleansing manual labor on the property
of Beetle Bitty Bettye Bennett (friends help friends and friends' moms!)
Will keep you guys posted...

PS-I'm also (with B. Bennett's help) in the middle of a 3B 20vt/4kq tranny
clutch job on my urq. I'm going to be upgrading to 3b clutch lever and t/o
bearing (the 4kq stuff is rusty and narsty looking), and will post some info
and pics on how it comes together for those who are curious. It may not be
such a mystery to folks now, but 5 years ago when I was one of the very few
in the US with a 20vt motor in my urq I got a lot of questions about the
clutch settup, so I'll share as much as I can about what works.
