Hi Martin and listers! I met you on the Mound turn Six @ USGP on Saturday...
big guy sporting the cool URQ shirt w/ script on the long sleeve...

I place the blame squarely on Michelin and nobody else.

I think they had uncompetitive tires that were unsafe with
the setup that Toyota was running on Friday morning. Nobody
else had a similar failure (with only 2-3 laps on the tires)

They are allowed to bring two sets/specs of tires, and one is
supposed to be "safe in any event"

They painted themselves into a corner with the silly idea of a chicane
that would eliminate any penalty for them (and all of the Michelin teams)
showing up unprepared.

They could have/ should have run the safest tires they had at 9/10ths
in that banked section and suffered the consequences. Instead they screwed
their
customer teams, the fans, and their reputation.

Since I have been an F1 fan and enjoyed all of the technology, politics
and drama for over 25 years (some years more than the actual racing) i see
it as sweet
justice, perhaps even an honor to be present at a most dramatic moment in
recent F1
history... (if you really want to see the race, SpeedTv is the best anyway!)

Replay is on Speed 12;30 AM Saturday (just after midnight friday EST)

I knew for sure that there was no resolution when the cars pulled out on
track,
everyone around me was startled by what happened! I was sure the track
announcer
would say SOMETHING if there was any plan to run the Michelin tires.

We left after lap 2 for our 8 hour drive home!

Great day for all of the Tiego Montera "what his name in 3rd" fans!
