... this is the method I'd recommend as well. The first stretch of hose
from the coolant flange to the hard line that runs behind the timing cover
is likely to be very expensive from Audi, and it uses one of those stupid
non-adjustable clamps ... that are guaranteed to leak! With a used part you
won't think twice of sawing off the clamp and removing the deteriorated
factory hose ... which leaves you with a nice metal banjo fitting that a
standard length of hose and a couple standard adjusting hose clamps can
seal. My personal preference is to buy a new freeze plug fitting too ...
not sure I'd feel real great about having a part that was used once having
to fit into a freeze plug ...
