I was going to do what you suggest, but decided to get one from - drumroll -
Stebro! We will see how fast Dan gets it to me as he says the shipping
delay problem is fixed.
The local exhaust guy said he would have a difficult/near impossible time
getting even a 2.5" to curve up around the axle using the mufflers I showed
from Summit. I can get the whole thing made up from Stebro
http://www.stebro.net/aqur.htm for a little more than to have the local
shop fab a straight pipe and I am sure this would be to noisy. Might as
well do it right - Stebro may be slow, but I have been completly satisfied
with the system on my 4000 Quattro. It would cost me 2-3 times the cost of
the Stebro just to get a pipe bender and other special tools to do my own.
I'm sourcing a Dynatec Power Cat 2.5 I/O
http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?Ntt=muffler&Ntk=KeywordSearch&DDS=
1&searchinresults=false&N=0&target=egnsearch.asp&x=32&y=8
So now the system will be 2.5 +/- a little on back including downpipe which
I measured at just over 2.5" OD. I just need to source the end mating
flanges and flared pipes to go over the .2.5" cat ends. Anyone know where
to get these? This is to make the system bolt compatable with the OEM
catalytic converter. Summit did not have them.
