If you thought it might be interpreted as spamming, why did you post
it, instead of asking Dan, Steve, or myself if it was Kosher?
It does come across as spamming, unfortunately- you're a vendor/
business directly soliciting the list, and you're using a fairly
hefty advertisement in your signature. To me, it's one thing if a
lister (or the community) independently approaches a vendor about
setting up a group buy because there was interest in the community
for it. When a vendor does it directly, that's more of a
"promotion", and falls under advertising and solicitation.
Neither is permitted. The way to get business from listers is to
contact listers when your services/products apply...as well as simply
by "doing good" and relying on reputation.
(I also happen to think that "group buys" are a complete waste of
everyone's time- for example, the group tire buy this winter was
barely a few dollars below e-tire.com's RETAIL price. I've also seen
them go wrong, firsthand. Ask me some time about Todd Candey's
eurolight harnesses, or Metrix's performance in the eurolight group
buy Chris Miller and I set up many years ago. However, my personal
opinion on the matter of group buys is moot, since site policy does
not prohibit them).
You're welcome to 'appeal' to Dan ( I've cc'd Dan to bring the matter
to his attention in case he disagrees with my assessment; the buck
stops with him), but to me your message was pretty clearly against
Audifans advertising policy.
Please do not post on this subject to any Audifans lists again unless
you have Dan's permission.
