[urq] Doing the brake shake...Resolved

It would appear that I have remedied the problem, even if I still do not
know which component was the culprit.  I suspect it is the caliper
sticking.

I replaced both calipers and rotors with the ones from my other ur-q (TT
calipers, A4 rotors+pads+ caliper brackets, and VW Beatle (NEW) brake
lines).  Brake shake is now gone.  I will be putting the rotors on the
brake lathe to check for warpage when I get a chance, they appeared to
be straight when rotating them with the caliper off, and checking
against the caliper bracket,   but it could be a heat related warp.

 

Anyway, thanks for all of the suggestions, and the shaking did not
present itself in the pedal....only in the steering column.

 

Hope this helps someone else....BTW> the above brake setup works well
under the stock R8 wheels.
