The guts of heater controls are original, but you will use the new
faceplate.
You will use the complete original instrument cluster. I don't believe
there is no need to swap the clear plastic, but I did my swap 2 years ago,
so it is a little fuzzy.
My instrument cluster is out of the car right now, so I can take a look.
The top cover is black to match the black dash from the 85-87 4k/Cgt.
There is a black w/blue stripe wire that can get inadvertently left
unconnected when you wire up the new connectors.
This will cause a relay (possibly the hazard) to chatter when the key is
turned on.

You would want to use the newer heater control. I remember something being
different, but don't recall exactly what. Maybe the mounting points.
You can use your instrument cluster, IIRC. I believe you have to use the
clear plastic and surround from the mewer car, use your instruments. Your
plastic has different mounting tabs.
I don't recall there being brown covers for the instrument cluster. Any
'85 - '87 4000/Cgt should work, though.
If you just have a bad switch, you can drill a small hole in the side and
spray contact cleaner into it. It's worked about 75% of the time for me.

*Do I use the same heater control unit ?
*Do I use my original intstrument cluster, but utilize the switch mounts and
the covers from the 4k/Cgt?
*Huw warns to expect to have to play around with the hazard light circuit to
get it right, can anyone else be more specific to their findings on this?
**** And there are a couple more items I need, can anyone here help?
1 CGT window switch (4k if they are the same) ( at least 1 )
1 top cowling/cluster cover (dark brn preferred)
1 trim panel (where all the switches mount)
Thanks guys
