[urq] Water in windshield channel

I drove my car in the rain, and being neurotic I was helping it dry out a bit.  6 hours later the car was dry on the outside but I stuck my finger under the windshield rubbers and ran it around the sides and bottoms and water comes dripping out - which I figure is normal.  I think these cars are prone to rust around the windshield -  my Rabbit rusted out these at the lower corner.  I suspect I'll continue to try to dry out this area in the future by running my finger under the gasket.    If I had a compressor I'd probably try to blow out the car.  
 
Is this all a good idea?     Is anyone else this nutty?
